In November 2008, I started photographing outdoor and indoor scenes framed by the windows of my house. Over the next three years, I photographed constantly and took many thousands of pictures. The views lacked drama and looked mostly the same day to day, but the restrictive approach and repetition made working in this manner as much a therapeutic act as it was photographic.
Since beginning this project, a lot has happened - some good things, some not as good. I turned 40 years old and my sons abandoned collecting Pokemon cards in favor of baseball cards. My best friend moved across the country to live a mile from me and my family. Relationships and friendships have changed. Time has passed, predictably, comfortably. And I look out the windows to mark the time and remember what I see.
